Tool Kit: Stats Analyzer

At times, your practice reaches a certain size, level of stagnation or difficulty that you decide to bring in outside help.  Or, you may simply decide that you want to focus more on patient care and have others handle some of the business aspects of your practice.
Whatever the case and regardless of whom you decide to bring in, a part of the fee you pay will invariably be for that person to take your practice results and perform some analysis.  They will then provide solutions for you to implement.  But why pay for any of that when you have MPE Stats Analyzer?

Our stats analyzer is a simple form with areas to enter your basic monthly practice data.  We then take that information, examine the absolutes and trends and give you our thoughts regarding possible areas of weakness and opportunity.  We also offer our opinions on ways to correct those weaknesses and take advantage of those opportunities.
If you want us to review numbers outside of the ones we have listed on the form, let us know in the comments section.  If you want us to look for something very specific, add that to the comments section too.
The more months of information we have, the better the analysis we can do for you.  We suggest providing at least 3 months of information.  So, you would enter information into the form and submit it at least 3 separate times.  Once you have made the initial entry of data, please feel free to add subsequent months of data as they happen.  We’ll add that to what we already have and update our analysis for you.
Here at MPE, we don’t like to get pitchy or salesy, but other than the “free” part, let me give you some additional rationale as to why you should trust us with your numbers.  A lot of consultants and management entities will tell you about their experience in terms of years, geography and types of practices seen.  We’ve seen it all too from recruiting doctors before they even entered dental or ortho school through all the stages of practice development to eventual retirement.  We’ve seen operations outside of the US – we have our deepest experience in Japan, Spain, Mexico and Brazil.  But here’s a key differentiating factor.  As part of a publicly traded company years ago, our very existence depended on the success and constant improvement of our affiliated practices.  A failed practice was not a disappointment, it was simply unacceptable.  This enabled us to develop a number of technologically based, system based and plain old hard thinking solutions to myriad challenging problems.  By the same token, if a practice reached 45% overhead, we were tasked with getting that down to 40% without putting the doctor in a position to compromise care.  Even among very healthy practices, seeking constant improvement was the norm.  It’s the way we were brought up in this business.  It’s what we know.
Also, please note that sometimes statistics analysis and offering solutions leads to requests to implement those solutions and taking a more active role in problem solving.  At this point, we will probably have to work out a mutually agreeable fee for our services.  When it comes to anything with a cost though, please remember our mantra, “We don’t get paid until you get paid.”  In other words, if we can’t improve your most important results with what we bring to the table, you don’t owe us anything.
So, give our MPE Stats Analyzer a try.  It can’t hurt.
